Credits
Each organisation has a prepaid balance of credits, and 1 credit = $0.0001. Calls draw it down, and there is no subscription.

Image calls
An image call costs the sum of the credits of the tasks it asks for, whatever the number of faces or detections. Expression, gaze and face recognition add face detection automatically, counted once per call. An image call for expression costs 5 + 5 = 10 credits.

Video jobs
A video costs the frames analysed (duration × frames per second, rounded up) times the sum of the per-frame credits of its tasks. One minute of face detection and expression at 1 fps costs 120 credits; 2 fps costs twice that.

Chat
Chat is charged per token and per image, times the model multiplier, rounded up to a whole credit. Each response reports its tokens, credits and cost_usd.

Storage and data transfer
From 1 November 2026, stored data and downloads are charged in credits on the 2nd of each month for the previous month. Uploads are free. Each organisation gets the first 1 GB-month of storage and the first 1 GB of downloads free every month.

Refunds
If a call fails, its credits are refunded to the balance automatically. Unused balance is not refundable, except where the law requires it.

Top-ups and bonus
Organisation admins top up by card, from $25 to $1,000, through Stripe Checkout. Larger top-ups add credit: $250 buys $262.50 of credit, and $1,000 buys $1,100. Paid credit never expires.

New accounts get 50,000 free credits ($5) once. It is used before paid credit and expires 90 days after it is granted.

Stored data and downloads, from 1 November 2026.
From 1 November 2026, the data your organisation stores and the data it downloads are charged in credits. Uploads are free.
- Each organisation gets the first 1 GB-month of storage and the first 1 GB of downloads free every month.
- Storage is charged on the average amount stored over the month.
- Storage and downloads are charged on the 2nd of each month for the previous month.
- Data is never deleted because of a negative balance.

Chat is priced by what it uses.
Credits = text input tokens ÷ 1,000 × 1, plus output tokens ÷ 1,000 × 20, plus images × 2, times the model multiplier, rounded up to a whole credit.
- The tokens an image takes are charged only at the image rate, never again as text input.
- A call reserves its worst case before the model runs and returns the unused part when the answer completes.
- A failed call costs nothing.
- Longer messages, longer answers, more images and larger models cost more. Each response reports its tokens, credits and cost_usd.

What does a credit cost?
1 credit = $0.0001, so $25 buys 250,000 credits. GET /v1/tasks lists the current credit cost of every task. Billing and credits guide
When does the free credit expire?
The 50,000 sign-up credits expire 90 days after they are granted. Free credit is used before paid credit. Paid credit never expires.
What happens when my balance runs out?
Calls are refused with a 402 insufficient_balance error until an organisation admin tops up the balance. Your data is kept: the monthly storage and transfer charge can take the balance below zero, and data is never deleted because of a negative balance.
What counts as storage and data transfer?
Storage is the data your organisation keeps in BeEmotion Cloud, charged on the average amount stored over the month. Data transfer is the data you download from it. Downloads served from the CDN cache cost less than downloads from origin, and uploads are free. Each organisation gets the first 1 GB-month of storage and the first 1 GB of downloads free every month. These charges start on 1 November 2026.
Can I get unused credit refunded?
No, except where the law requires it. Failed calls are always refunded.
